What is FCVCCF?

The FCVCCF stands for Fort Cavazos Volunteer Child Care Fund. We are a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization providing up to 40 hours FREE CHILD CARE per month, per child at the hourly rate established by the CDC to Volunteers registered with the Fort Cavazos Child and Youth and School Services (CYSS) or using private childcare and volunteering for board-approved Organizations.

How do I use the FCVCCF?

Volunteers using the CDC must register in two places – CYSS and with the FCVCCF. Find our Volunteer Application on our website or Facebook Page.

I received an email that my application has been processed, now what?

You make the needed reservations at the appropriate center for all children needing care.  Ask for a “Pink Card” when you check into the CDC and take it with you to volunteer. The Organization’s POC will sign and verify your hours. Then you return the Pink Card to the CDC, so they can bill the FCVCCF. Please be aware you must follow all CDC rules and regulations for hourly childcare.

How is my childcare paid?

Using the information on the signed Pink Card you turned in at check out, the CDC bills FCVCCF. This means no out-of-pocket expense for you!

Forty Hours? I have more than one child, how does that work?

The FCVCCF will reimburse each volunteer up to forty hours (40) PER MONTH, PER CHILD.

What if I go over my 40-hour limit?

You are responsible for paying for those hours, not the FCVCCF or the CDC. Your individual log at the CDC has a column for tallying hours.

Are there volunteer hours that are not covered?

Yes, please visit our “Approved Organizations” page or our Facebook page for a list of activities not covered.

What organizations are approved?

A list of current approved organizations is available on our “approved organizations” page or or Facebook page. If you do not see yours, ask your organization to submit an application. Keep in mind the organization has to be on-post or service at least 75% military. This can be found on our “Applications” page.

Will the FCVCCF reimburse my off-post childcare center for my volunteer hours??

Yes, you must fill out the reimbursement form from your volunteer organization POC to request to be reimbursed monthly by sending the completed and signed form to FCVCCF P.O. Box 5973, Fort Cavazos TX, 76544-0073

This will end JUNE 1st

Do you reimburse travel time to and from the volunteer organization?

We will reimburse for 15 minutes travel time to your volunteer Organization and 15 minutes returning from Organization to pick up your children.

I use an FCC provider, is this covered?

Yes, but you must make your reservations through the CDC. The FCVCCF is only responsible for childcare reservations made through the CDC. It is your responsibility to make sure the organization you volunteer for is approved and the provider knows you are using the FCVCCF.
